S Tysoe were asked to investigate issues with a number of coldroom floors within the hospitals kitchens and food storage areas, the survey established that the existing floors were of a manufacturing method where the floor finish was “in panel “and consisted of a light duty aluminium, it was clear from the survey that the panel was delaminating in several large areas and localised repairs were not an adequate option.
We submitted our proposal and were awarded the tender to overlay all the coldroom floors with heavy duty Galvanised steel sheet minimised spangle at 2.0mm thick, in addition most coldroom internal wall panels were the subject of impact damage from food tray steel mobile dollies, some areas were so badly damaged that the panels core insulation was visible and constituted as an environmental issue for the client.
S Tysoe concluded the works by over cladding all insulated wall damage with 2.0mm thick 5 bar treadplate at 4ft high.
